The Hague – ‘the Royal City by the Sea’

The Hague, International City of Peace and Justice, third largest city in the Netherlands, official seat of the Crown and Government, home to hundreds of international organizations and multinationals, and one of the world's top four UN cities.

Within the region of The Hague, there is a strong presence of oil/gas companies operating in exploration and production, as well as international engineering and consultancy firms and fine chemical companies. One of the largest companies in this cluster is Royal Dutch Shell which has its global headquarters in The Hague. Companies such as Aramco Overseas, Total, McDermott / CB&I, Technip, Worley (former Jacobs Engineering), KBR and Schlumberger have also chosen to locate their offices in The Hague. Within close proximity to The Hague is the engineering office of Fluor (Hoofddorp, 35km).

Access to a qualified, highly educated multilingual workforce and the proximity of Rotterdam harbour as well as international airports (Schiphol/Amsterdam, The Hague-Rotterdam International Airport) mean that companies located in The Hague have opted for a well- established and functioning business environment.

Like no other city in the Netherlands, The Hague offers a unique combination of city life and beach life. The city's two seaside resorts - Scheveningen and Kijkduin - boast lovely wide sandy beaches. The port of Scheveningen is home to a number of special restaurants and cafés, besides being a hub for the fish trade. The fine view of the yacht harbour, the hustle and bustle at the Visafslag (fish auctions), and the fresh sea breeze all contribute to making the port of Scheveningen a unique spot in the Netherlands for dining out.
